SNAKES AND SPIDERS SHOW GIVES CHILDREN SOME ANIMAL MAGIC WITH MUIR

EXOTIC animals including snakes, skunks and tarantulas have crept out to meet children during their summer holidays.

Animal MagicThe children overcame any fears to get up close and personal with the animals at a Community Fun Day when they slithered back into the gates at Darnhall Primary School, to enjoy a day of animal magic.

They also got their hands on meercats, African hedgehogs and tortoises at the event organised by the GGO Community Group in partnership with Muir.

Animal MagicAnd if that wasn’t exciting enough, the 47 children also got to grips with a ‘Fun Science’ session which saw them conduct some nail-biting experiments with instructors.

“Many of the children who attended the event come from Muir’s nearby Glebe Green estate and we’re delighted to be able to work in partnership with the GGO Community Group to provide events like this,” Muir Tenancy Services Officer, Robert Burrows said.

“They had a really good time and had lots of fun getting to know some new animal friends.

“The children were keen to handle them and learn more about all the animals on the day, and they were also amazed by the science sessions which gave them the opportunity to explore a different side to the subject.”
