SEE STUNNING DRONE PICTURES OF WORK AT MUIR’S GROUNDBREAKING NEW BLACKPOOL DEVELOPMENT
STUNNING pictures taken from an eye in the sky have revealed the work taking place at Muir’s new 44-home development for the first time.
A drone was used to take the images of the Watson Road site in Blackpool, where Muir is working with MCI Developments to regenerate the former factory site and provide new affordable homes for people in the area.
The aerial shots were captured as diggers conduct groundworks at what is Muir Group Housing Association’s largest single development for many years.
Muir’s Executive Director of Assets and Growth, Sam Scott (below) said: “These fabulous photographs show the hard work and the scale of commitment going in to delivering these 44 homes for people and families in Blackpool.
“It is exciting to see this work taking place, both for us and for people struggling to find affordable accommodation in the area.
“Blackpool is in much need of quality affordable housing and this development underlines Muir’s dedication towards helping deliver quality new homes to the town.”
The exciting new development will consist of 27 two-bedroom and 15 three-bedroom houses, as well as two two-bedroom bungalows – all of which will be made available for affordable rent.
Cllr Christine Wright, Cabinet Member for Housing at Blackpool Christine Wright Council (right), said: “This scheme will make a positive contribution to meeting affordable local housing needs.
“It will deliver new quality family homes that are the most sought after in social housing.
“The former industrial site on Watson Road has stood empty for many years, so we are delighted that our efforts to encourage housing development is moving forward.”
Benefiting from a Homes England grant, the properties are expected to complete during Autumn 2019, with preparatory works already having begun earlier this year.
