Pupils Swap Pens For Litter Pickers As They Spring Clean Their Muir Community

SCHOOL pupils swapped pens and paper for bins and bags when they joined Muir for a litter pick on a nearby estate.

The Year 5 pupils from Darnhall Primary School in Winsford armed themselves with litter pickers to help spring clean some of the areas around the Glebe Green Estate, on which many of them live.Darnhall School Pupils

Showing plenty of pride in their community, their efforts were the latest in a line of regular projects to help keep the estate looking its best, with pupils from the school volunteering to help Muir on previous litter picks and gardening schemes.

Rob Burrows, a Muir Tenancy Services Officer who joined the pupils as they sprang into action said: “The pupils are a real credit to the Glebe Green Estate and everyone at Muir is extremely proud of their efforts.

“They are leading by example and it is fantastic to see them showing such passion for these initiatives.

“We are delighted to see how much pride they take in their community and Glebe Green is looking absolutely fabulous as a result.”

Muir Group Housing Association currently manages more than 300 properties on the Glebe Green Estate.
