One-Way Ticket With Muir Brings Peace For Former Runway Resident
LIVING at the end of a busy runway is finally at end for a woman who booked a one-way ticket to a new quality of life with Muir.
Pamela Creswick had lived on the edge of Gatwick runway since before the airport’s first plane ever took off, but a move to the country is now helping Pam and her family breathe more easily.
Muir has helped her to follow doctor’s advice after she was advised to get some cleaner air having developed breathing difficulties.
And after contacting Muir, she recently moved to the Shropshire countryside meaning Pam now enjoys the peace and quiet, as well as being just a stone’s throw away from daughter, Tracey.
“To hear and see birds from my garden is lovely,” Pam said. “I’ve never had anything like that.
“Planes used to take off every 30 seconds sometimes. It would be so noisy and you could smell the fumes.
“But it’s so quiet and lovely here – you can hear a pin drop.
“The air smells very different. I couldn’t wish for anything more.”
Life at the end of the airport at Gatwick already feels like a long way away for Pam after settling into her bungalow, near Whitchurch.
“I don’t miss living near the airport at all and I do feel better since I’ve been here.
“Muir Group Housing Association have been amazing. I have a lovely bungalow now and I’d definitely recommend them.”
But it’s not just Pam who has benefited from the move. Her daughter Tracey now has much greater peace of mind, living just a two-minute walk from her mum which enables them to see each other every day and a greater level of support.
“It’s a massive weight off my mind because I can help her when she is unwell and do her gardening,” said Tracey.
“She was quite depressed living at the end of the runway so when Muir told us our application for the property had been accepted we were thrilled.
“Muir’s Tenancy Services Officer, Sam Walton, was wonderful and from the moment our application was accepted, everything happened so smoothly.
“It’s great to have mum close by - we feel so lucky.”
