Although Muir conducts electrical checks every five years in-line with good practice recommended by the Health and Safety Executive, there are precautions you can take to minimise any risk to you and your family too.
“Electricity can sometimes be taken for granted but it’s a very powerful source of energy,” Muir’s Compliance Manager, Mike Proudfoot (pictured) said.
“It’s vital that we all take precautions to ensure we all stay safe in our homes.
“Simple things such as turning off appliances when they’re not being used, and not using electrical appliances which are wet can help us avoid unwelcome shocks and injuries.
