DON’T BE SHOCKED BY THE ELECTRICAL SAFETY ADVICE DESIGNED TO HELP IN YOUR MUIR HOME

NOTHING is more important to Muir than helping keep residents safe inside our homes.

That’s why we live up to our responsibilities as a landlord by conducting regular gas and electrical safety testing at our properties.

Electrical appliances are things we can take for granted in everyday life, and it’s often easy to forget the danger electricity can pose.

Although Muir conducts electrical checks every five years in-line with good practice recommended by the Health and Safety Executive, there are precautions you can take to minimise any risk to you and your family too.

Muir staff “Electricity can sometimes be taken for granted but it’s a very powerful source of energy,” Muir’s Compliance Manager, Mike Proudfoot (pictured) said.

“It’s vital that we all take precautions to ensure we all stay safe in our homes.

“Simple things such as turning off appliances when they’re not being used, and not using electrical appliances which are wet can help us avoid unwelcome shocks and injuries.

“That’s why we’d encourage Muir residents to take a look at the following information – to help stay safe from and potential electrical danger.”
