MUIR PROUD TO FEATURE ON PRESTIGIOUS ‘LANDLORD OF THE YEAR’ SHORTLIST

IT'S with a lot of pride and no short amount of hard work that has seen Muir shortlisted for ‘Landlord of the Year’ at the May 23rd Northern Housing Awards.

And while we’re very happy to be attending the Manchester awards ceremony, we’re happier still that this recognition reflects the commitment and desire we maintain for Muir residents.

Andrew Hunt, Executive Director of Resources has been with the Association for 29 years and has seen Muir not only develop plenty of homes in that time, but an ethic which always strives to put residents at the heart of everything we do.

“The philosophy at Muir has always been to deliver services our residents, need, want and value,” Andrew said.

“We try to do this as simply and effectively as possible, by listening to them, understanding, and then getting on with the job.

“Everyone at Muir is delighted the Association has been shortlisted for ‘Landlord of the Year’ We’re proud to be there alongside so many other wonderful social housing providers.

“It’s also great for our residents to see how our performance is being recognised in the sector.”

After celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2018, Muir remains true to its core value of putting residents first.

awards Having been ranked in the top 25% for six of eight categories in the Housemark customer satisfaction survey, and in the top 50% for the remaining two, - Muir also retained the highest Governance and Viability ratings (G1 and V1) from the Regulator of Social Housing in 2018-19.

Muir’s recent revamp of its Property Services department seeks to maximise repairs and maintenance – making sure Muir homes remain comfortable and safe for residents.

The Association’s National Resident Group – also shortlisted at the Awards in the ‘Resident Involvement Initiative’ category – is giving residents a greater voice after being launched in 2018.

And our Money Advice service – shortlisted at last year’s awards – provides free assistance and support to help residents sustain their tenancies in the face of financial worry.

They are just a few of the ways in which Muir Group Housing Association continues to provide valuable and robust services for residents – as well as the affordable, sheltered, supported living and shared ownership homes it provides in regions across the UK.
