Free summer activities prove a hit with youngsters

A FUNDING boost is helping youngsters enjoy the summer holidays as they tackle a range of fun activities.

Youngsters at Muir’s Glebe Green scheme in Winsford are currently benefitting from football coaching, dance sessions and a community gardening initiative thanks to an £800 funding donation from Friends of Muir as well as £1,000 gifted by Cheshire Community Foundation.

Muir Tenancy Services Officer, Robert Burrows, worked in partnership with the Cheshire Community Foundation to help top up the cash kick from the Friends of Muir fund and said: “We are really pleased youngsters on Glebe Green are making the most of it.

“The funding is helping have plenty of fun and the initiatives provided by it have proved to be a real hit with them.

“These activities are continuing throughout the summer, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

“We welcome as many youngsters to get involved as possible.”

Activities take place at Glebe Green’s multi-use area on the estate from noon until 4pm and are free of charge.
